Southern 32 - 2018

The series for you!

29  July  Coulsdon

Round 7 was on the first rainy weekend for ages.  We had a good size entry, which was encouraging, particularly as the event was only  a week after the National Production Challenge meeting for the same cars.   Special thanks to Mike for the very efficient organisation.

Dave Harvey top qualified with a car borrowed from Stan Alton.  Dave was joined in the 32s by Vince Lee and Dave Stevenson, while Les May made the top 4 with a big 31.

Jody Symons won the 3 man clubmans final  from Mike Spurway.

Mike won the E final from Dick Stevenson.

The D final also turned out to be the Falcon Masters Final, Nick Thrower won a close race from Jody and Josh Howley.

Mike Read won the  C final by over a lap from the closely matched Stan Alton and Ben Tapp.

The two championship leaders only made the B final, Ian Barker won by over a lap from Will Stemman with Paul Harwood third.

In the A final Les May’s pinion spun early on, Daves Harvey and Stevenson had a close race for the lead, while  Vince Lee had a less satisfactory run to third

The Super Production A final

The Super Production and Le Mans 32 winning cars

Le Mans 32 was a close race, Ian and Vince strengthened their championship lead from Luton with their second win in a row.  The Stevenson team were the only ones with a major break down, which left them in 9th.

There’s now a month’s break until the next round at Timaru on 2nd September.
