Southern 32 -
The series for you!
10 June Roedale
Round five was another sunny day on the south coast -
Ian King’s
very efficient race control achieved an early finish.
In qualifying Will Stemman put in single run of 48.75 to take top spot, there were only two other runs over 48, both achieved by Vince Lee. Nick Thrower produced a 43 to take top spot in Falcon Masters, while Robin Cornwall’s 42 put him comfortable top of the clubman Falcon runners.
CLUBMAN FINALS
The Clubman Falcon saw Robin Cornwall win ahead of Alan Clark who had been the quickest of the visitors in this class throughout. Championship leader Ali Dent took 3rd ahead of Mac Miles.
OVERALL FINALS
The D final was an all Netley affair, Mark Witham was quickest in qualifying, and just as in the clubman final the top qualifier won on red lane. The rest of the race was even more like the clubman final with the same drivers finishing in the same order on the same lanes.
In the C final Robin Cornwall again won on red, this time followed by Simon Francis and Chris Frost, while Les May had to replace his worn out tyres for the final, and the new ones upset the handling of his super.
Mike Read won the B final, for once the winner wasn’t on red. Stan Alton beat Dave Stevenson for second by a tiny margin, followed by Falcon Masters winner Nick Thrower.
The A final was a close race between Vince Lee and Ian Barker. Vince won by half a lap from Ian. That second place was enough to move him into the joint championship lead shared with today’s 3rd place finisher Will Stemman. Ben Tapp was 4th

Super Production and Falcon Masters Finals
The A final before the start
Vince looked no less happy at the end!
Le Mans 32
Team Dean and Luton SCC proved both quick and reliable, the home team of Ben Tapp
and Ian King set the fastest segment and won by about 7 laps from Luton. D & D had
delays while on their white segment which consigned them to third. LMR had even
more delays and finished only just ahead of GT who had the first of the Hawk Retro
powered cars. The Netley drivers were on their first visit to the track and this
isn't the easiest track to learn! The VIP drivers having finished 1-
