The 7 man Clubman final had a complete field of Genesis chassis, six had Hawk R motors and just one had a Falcon.
Top qualifier Doug was an early retirement, that left the Timaru pair contesting the lead. Graham Sampson won, and has the early championship lead having won both 2019 rounds so far.

The A Final
Super Production and Falcon Masters
These finals showed a surprisingly small number of Super Wasp powered cars considering it’s one of the quickest tracks in the series.
Marc Lyons won the 5 man C final, and Steve Keary won the 6 man B final.
Will Stemman won the A final with 31 laps. Having won both rounds this season, he has the championship lead. There were 3 cars on 30 laps, Mike Davies and Brian Saunders taking their Falcons to second and third ahead of Josh Bryant’s super.

Le Mans 32
Southern 32 team races normally have several cars on sit out, but with 8 teams and an 8 lane track all the teams were on as long as their cars were still running. Several teams hit serious car troubles, none more so than Janitors who retired early on.
Harwood Racing managed to tape their broken chassis back together and raised the ride height to stop it scraping on the track. Despite the rather compromised handling, they succeeded in winning! Just as at the first round, “How Hard Can It Be” took second place points behind Harwood, this time just 3 laps in arrears.
“Young Man” found their first car to be beyond immediate repair after one segment, so started from scratch with a different car one segment late. That was the fastest car on the track for much of the race, but they just failed to catch GT who took third overall and won the Falcon class.
Next Round
The next round is at Bournemouth in 4 weeks. The location isn’t on the internet due to the owner’s security and privacy concerns. If anybody would like a map please e mail Chris Frost.
November Round
Something to think about is the Nationals track round in November. This was originally planned as a joint meeting with the BSL running on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday as in 2018. However the BSL have announced they will not be holding a meeting on the Nats track this year, so the November meeting will be Southern 32 only. The Southern 32 events can comfortably be accommodated in one day, so there is no need to run on the Saturday. There are one or two problem top overcome, like will there be enough entries and not least we won’t have the David Sargent as race controller.
