15 May Roedale

The third 2022 round was at Roedale club in Brighton.  This was their first meeting for visiting drivers since lock down, having decided not to run an area round earlier this year.

A big thank you to Ian King and everybody at Roedale.   Ian’s very efficient race control ensured an early finish to the meeting.

Benn Tapp took top qualifying with 49.92 laps on his red run, this was the only 49 of the day.  Ian King was fastest with Hawk power on 44.85.

In the clubman final Barry Gilzean was visibly quickest and won by nearly 5 laps from the very close contest between Bill Jenner and Alan Clark.

 The A Final   

Overall finals.

The incident filled C final was won by Chris Frost by a couple of laps from Bill.

Ian King won the B final and Hawk masters by a lap from Barry.

Ben Tapp won the A by 2½ laps from a very close race between Paul Harwood and Dave Stevenson.

Le Mans 32

Team Dean lead for over half the race, but pit stops for a gear change and body mounting issues led to a very close finish with D&D, taking the win by less than quarter of a lap in over 900.
Third was also pretty close, Harwood Racing (with Alan Clark standing in for Marc Lyons) taking 3rd by just over a lap from Broom Bandits.

Here’s the winning team - Dave Stevenson and Tony Mills .   The car has a Les May chassis.
