Southern 32 - 2022

The series for you!

18 Sept  Bournemouth

The Bournemouth round had a very low entry, it seems a lot of drivers were unable to race because of a covid outbreak at one club and family holidays.  The few that were there enjoyed a good day’s racing (and an early finish!).

Barry Gilzean was the only competitor eligible for clubman,  he was already in a very strong championship position and today’s maximum points means he is the 2022 clubman champion.

Simon Francis took top qualifying spot with his Genesis, and won the final from Steve Kearey who was the only super production runner.

Le Mans 32 team race

Simon volunteered for race control in the team race, so we had two teams.  The race was 1 hour - 4 x 15 minute segments.   Both teams ran with Hawk power.

Broom Bandits - Steve and Barry were the winners and the win kept them in with a small chance of  catching the championship leaders.

GT’s second place made them champions in the Hawk class.

The next round is at Timaru on 9th October - here’s hoping for a larger entry!
