Sunday’s racing was the National Club Team championships.  Thanks to our main race controller David Sargent and all the volunteers who helped run the meeting

There were 8 teams racing, 6 Club Teams plus two team using  drivers from more than one  area.  Each 4 driver team has a total of 3 hours running time - 22min 30 sec on each lane each driver runs on  2 lanes.  Each team has one Group 12 powered car.    Motors can be changed during race time, but that requires a length pit stop.

GSR’s Lee Parsons set the fastest time of the day in the first segment. Luton and Skyline were second and third.  PN13’s Greg Harwood matched GSR’s pace in segment 2 to draw level Skyline.   Luton’s motor was slowing and in segment 3 they were the first to take a motor change, that dropped them to the tail of the field.   GSR took a motor change in segment 4 which meant Skyline led at half way with GSR and PN13 within 3 laps. As the race continued GSR  took a small lead from PN13. Skyline had pit stops dropping them back towards a recovering Luton.  In the final quarter of the race PN13 had car problems while GSR continued at full speed extending their lead to 90 laps.  Skyline and Luton were 3rd and 4th on the road but as PN13 was not eligible for the club championship, Skyline were the second club team ahead of Luton, Fylde, Oaklands and Netley.
