30th July -   Castle Raceway

A somewhat disappointing turn out of 6 visitors joined by 3 locals contested the Castle Raceway BSL.

Nevertheless a very enjoyable & relaxed day’s racing was enjoyed by those who did attend.

Martin Ellis, making a rare BSL appearance, dominated 1/32nd racing to make it 5 different winners from the 5 rounds held so far! Shep ran in 2nd to close in on the series title.

Martin teamed up with local ace Terry Giacomet as Little & Large to also dominate the team race with Team 131 consisting of Shep & Pete Clarkson running a comfortable 2nd as the Castle Raceway & Fylde teams needed pit stops for repairs.

Somewhat of a damper on the day came on the way home for a number of racers. A fatal accident on the M56 meant  a 100 mile journey took over 5 hours to complete..

Entries for the last round at Fylde on 24 Sep sound a little more promising. It would be good to see representation from all clubs wanting to hold a round next year attending & helping us end this year’s series on a high.
