The second round of the 2025 Championship was the furthest south west, which might explain why it attracted rather fewer entries than round 1.  The racing was very close with the top 6 qualifiers all on the same lap.   Unusually there were no Super Wasp powered cars present so everybody was in the Hawk/Eagle Masters class.

Keith Fishenden and Mark Hammond were very close for the first half of the Clubman final, but Keith ran out a clear winner.  Keith and 3rd place Hugh Conway were considerably quicker than last year - of course more track experience helps!

In the overall finals, Alan Clark won the C from Bill.   Keith Fishenden won the B final from Mark Witham.   Keith’s run was the fastest final of the day, and only missed qualifying for the A by a tenth of a lap .. What if he’d made the A??    The A final wasn’t short of accidents!  Top qualifier Mark Hammond won from Barry Gilzean, while Chris Frost took third ahead of Nick Thrower by a couple of car lengths.

Le Mans 32 team cars and their starting lanes

The team race first segment was very close between GT and Luton.   Timaru sat out the first segment.   The second segment was very close between GT and Timaru.  After everybody had had two runs GT was less than 2 laps up on Luton.   By the end GT had extended their lead over Luton and Timaru, although Luton’s cause wasn’t helped by running out of ground clearance at the end of their final segment.

Thanks to everybody for a great day’s racing.

The next Southern 32 round is at Coulsdon on 13th April.
