The 6th round of the championship was at Bournemouth. Numbers at this round were
lower than last year, perhaps travelling to the furthest south-
Paul Harwood was top qualifier in the heats with top clubman Mark Hammond second overall.
Keith Fishenden won the clubman final from Steve Rouse. Mark Hammond had controller trouble and Ray Skilling’s car was intermittently cutting out so they couldn’t match their qualifying pace Keith has won all 3 rounds he has raced in, if he does sufficient rounds that must put him a strong championship position.
The overall finals started with a run off for the remaining B final place, Hugh Conway
went quicker than his best qualifying run to finish ahead of Ian Howard.
The B final
saw a win for Keith, with another good run from Hugh taking second ahead of Steve.
Ray’s car trouble persisted leaving him 4th.
Paul Harwood with the only Super Wasp
powered car won, Chris Frost took second and won Hawk Masters ahead of Nick Thrower.
Mark Hammond’s controller troubles left him in 4th.

Le Mans 32 Team Race
Paul and Nick raced in the team race, running under the Harwood Racing banner (although they used Nick’s car). Dave Hammond joined Ian in the Scuderia 66 team.
The Harwood team led throughout, with Chris and Mark second leading the Hawk powered class from Dundella (Keith and Steve) Both H&R (Hugh and Ray) and Scuderia 66 were delayed with gear trouble in their first segments.
Thanks to everybody for a good days racing. The next round is at Luton on 21st July.
