Southern 32 - 2021

The series for you!

               Luton      Luton Club website

The 2021 season opened at Luton SCC on 15 August .   It was the first S32 round at the club’s new home at Broom which is some miles north of Luton   near Biggleswade.  The S32 planned to visit their new home last year but covid prevented that. The track is different from the configuration we raced on 2 years ago at Bushmeade and of course a permanent home is a big advantage over having to set it up for  each clubnight.

A big thank you to all at Luton,   particularly the Offers for the barbeque not forgetting the very efficient race control from Nick, Ray........

The team race gave each team an hour’s track time, and they spent remarkably little of that time in the pits.  The only significant incident was what looked like an innocuous crash, but whatever it looked like there was no mistaking the gear noise once it was back on track.  That was the winning car - Once Sofa King Relaxed replaced their gear, Martin Ellis and Chris Stemman drove it to win by some 8 laps from Harwood Racing.

Thanks again to everybody for a great day’s racing. We can look forward to round 2 at Coulsdon on 3rd October.
