The 2015 final round was at Luton - thanks to Nick Thrower, Chris Stemman and everybody at Luton for an excellent day’s racing. It was good to see Dick and David Stevenson trying Southern 32 for the first time, and Andy Bishop making a come back.

The 3 minute qualifying produced a not totally unexpected top qualifier - James Cleave with the only 37 of the day.  Stan Alton set the only 36 of the day to take second spot.
John Ovens set the fastest Falcon powered time, with Mick Metcalfe not far behind top clubman.

Steve Rhodes and Mick Metcalfe were tied in the Clubman championship coming into the final round.  Steve Rhodes made won the Clubman’s B final.   Richard Hills won a close A final, and Mick Metcalfe won the championship

 Super Production A final

The overall finals started with a 2 man race, Terry Blackmore beating Dick Stevenson’s Genasis by just 0.2 laps.

Stan Kirk won the E final with Bill Jenner and Steve Rhodes close behind.

In the D final, Keith Gibson did his best run of the day  with his super to win by a lap and a half from the closely matched Luton pair of Marc Lyons and Richard Hills.

Dave Harvey won the C final ahead of the top 3 Falcon Masters runners, John Ovens took his first Falcon Masters win of the year to reinforce his second place in the championship.   Chris Frost had already won the championship and was the second falcon runner at this round while Mick Metcalfe’s C final run elevated him to third in the championship.

The B final was all Super Wasp powered, and produced a remarkably close finish with Nick Thrower, Murray Tucker and Paul Harwood covered by 7 hunredths of a lap.

James Cleave won the A final with Greg Harwwod, Will Stemman and Stan Alton close behind.    Will was already ahead in the championship, and this A final secured the championship by a 9 point margin from Paul Harwood, with Stan and Murray close together in 3rd and 4th.

The team event  included 3 Falcon powered teams.   Bill Jenner ran for two of the teams  thus allowing 11 teams to run.

Harwood racing led all the way to take the perfect championship score with their 6th win of the season.

The two home teams exchanged second place with the Luton Layabouts taking second ahead of the Luton SCC team who were a secure second in the championship.  Gomboslot, GT, Eces and Oaklands were pretty closely matched for the next 4 positions.  The Falcon powered teams were very closely matched, Church Farm were secure winners of the class Championship, and came home just a couple of laps up on Norfolk etc.  but the really close finish was for second with Luton 2 missing out by a few feet.

Thanks again to everybody who made such an excellent series this year.

Next season starts in January, we hope to see all those who race in 2015 and more next year.   I hope to have the venues finalised in the next few days.  There is one big change to the rules - you can run a Genesis chassis to BSCRA INTRO32 rules in all the classes next year.  2016 web site
