BSCRA F2 Championship
Sunday 6 March
-
The race format was an individual 1 minute qualifying run to seed the 19 competitors into 3 heats.
Josh Bryant top qualified with a 6.777 second lap ahead of James Cleave and Will Stemman. These 3 were the only ones under 7 seconds and all of them were quicker than the qualifying record James set in 2019.
Tyler Tattersal won the first final, while Steve Taylor had looked a likely winner till his motor came out.
Barry Gilzean won the second final from Graham Woodward and Marc Lyons, Mark Witham had been running in the top 3 till his gears failed.
James Cleave Josh Bryant and Will Stemman were the quickest in the final by some margin, and were the only 3 running significantly faster than Barry’s B final time. James won, taking his 5th national F2 title in a row, he was followed by Josh and Will. Michael Ovens was quick in the final segments just beating Barry for 4th overall.
We can look forward to the open classes at the 1/32 Nationals at the end of April
