BSCRA Area 1 Championships 2017/18 - Regulations

Eligibility

Everyone is welcome to race in these meetings, but only BSCRA members are eligible to score points.

Sunday 14 Jan 2018 Ecurie Barnton
Sunday 11 Feb 2018 Ecurie Barnton

Timetable

For the Raceway 81 meeting doors will probably open at 8.30am (judging by last year, to be confirmed closer to the time).

Timetable for the Ecurie Barnton meetings will be decided closer to the time.

Entry Fees

Entry fees for Raceway 81 will be determined by the host club.

At the Ecurie Barnton round: £10 for adults, £5 for juniors and full-time students.

Classes

1 Saloon BSCRA 1/32 Saloon class, except that Falcon motors are allowed as an alternative to the normal Group 12 motors.

2 F1 BSCRA 1/32 Grand Prix class.

3 Sports BSCRA 1/32 Sports/GT class.

There will also be a BSCRA INTRO 32 class at the Ecurie Barnton rounds, provided at least one driver eligible for BSCRA INTRO 32 racing is present. This race will be open to all drivers, but only people eligible for BSCRA INTRO 32 racing will score points.

Race Format

The race format at Raceway 81 will be determined by the host clubs.

The race format at the Ecurie Barnton rounds is: in each class, each driver has a 1-minute qualifying run, fastest single lap determines driver’s placing in a set of segmented finals, 4 x 3-minute segments, win from any final. This may be varied if the number of entrants makes the preferred system inappropriate and a majority of entrants agree.

Class Championships

Separate championship tables will be kept for each class, counting each driver's best 2 scores from the 3 meetings.

The points structure is: 20 for 1st place, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd,... 1 for 20th.

Nationals Qualifying

The top drivers in classes 1, 2 and 3 will qualify for the corresponding classes at the 2018 Nationals, to be held from 5-7 May 2018 in Corby. The qualifying is on a class-by-class basis, e.g. the top drivers in class 2 qualify in F1, regardless of performance in the other classes.

Note: the Clubman Nationals, including INTRO 32, will be held on 3-4 March 2018 at Corby. There is no need to qualify to race in this, so the Area 1 championship for INTRO 32 is a stand-alone event.

Victor Ludorum

The BSCRA Scottish Champion trophy will be awarded to the competitor with the highest score when the totals for classes 1, 2 and 3 are added together.

Tie Breakers

Within a class, first tie-breaker is the discarded score; second tie-breaker is highest number of highest positions.

In Victor Ludorum, first tie-breaker is the best discarded score in any class, followed by the next best discarded score; final tie-breaker is highest number of highest positions (including all classes at all meetings).
