Coulsdon
30 July  round 5

The Coulsdon round was the best supported so far with 25 in the individual classes and 13 teams.  A big thank you to Mike, Dave and everybody at Coulsdon for a very enjoyable meeting.

Individual qualifying produced some surprises - Mickey Ovens taking top spot with his super production ahead of Vince Lee running a Genesis.  

There were 14 runners in the clubman finals, although a couple of them weren’t eligible for championship points.
Martin Winkler won the D final from newcomer Hugh Conway.
Mike Ransley had a good run to win the C.   The B final produced a remarkably close finish, John King won by just one hundredth of a lap from Mike Searey.  Peter Kerr won the A final from Geoff King, Geoff’s score exactly matching Mike’s B final time.

Clubman B final John, Ray, Mike and Trevor

In the overall finals Mike Ransley turned in another good run to win the F final.  Keith Gibson won the E and Mike Searey won the D. Tony Mills won the C, the first to top 29 laps in the 3 minute finals.  Dave Stevenson put over a lap on that in the B final,  his 30.88 was the fastest final of the day.  The top final saw a win for Vince Lee with his Genesis, defeating all the Super Wasp powered cars.

Vince Lee - Won overall with his Genesis - and of course was also top in Hawk Masters

Le Mans 32 team race

Gumboslot led the first segement followed by Harwood Racing. Harwood then took the lead for the middle part of the race but Gumboslot took the win by nearly 4 laps with the fastest run of the day in segment 4.  K-slot held an early 3rd place ahead of No Idea and LMR.  By half distance LMR has moved up to third and No Idea had retired with stripped gears.  Team Dean and G&R contested 5th place, the Roedale pairing took the place.

Kerrunch were the top Hawk powered team, taking 9th overall.
