3rd November -  Bolton

Particularly after a great deal of effort by Bolton’s John Lomas & Garry Jones to have their new track sorted for the last round of the BSL a disappointing entry of only 8 racers turned up to contest the meeting. Nevertheless it provided an enjoyable day’s racing.

The track proved an interesting challenge with some varying performances from heat to heat in 1/32nd as racers gradually got to grips. The trend continued with bottom qualifier for the A Final coming through to win the final meaning a different racer has won every round!

This meant the series title win went to someone who last won the series 22 years ago…   

One racer who would loved to have been there was Norman Fawcett .He was unable to attend through illness. I know absolutely all racers wish you a very speedy recovery Norman.

In his absence Ian Fitzpatrick stepped in to partner Pete Clarkson in Team 131. Ian often dominant  in this trackroom of old showed he can still turn it on with a good car to help their team to a clear victory & 1/24th series title.

A big thanks to John & Garry for running the meeting.

Congratulations to all the title winners, namely for those not mentioned already Top Junior Harry Shepherd, Top Falcon Dave Wood & Clubman Champion Mike Ogden.

As ever SCD did the series proud with some great trophies. Many thanks to Muriel for presenting them.

We held some discussion on plans for next year & when further consultation has taken place more details will be announced.
