Race Reports Blackpool 2016
Following discussion held with most area racers at the BSL Finals I am writing to confirm arrangements for our qualifying series for the 1/32nd Nationals next year.
Area Round Dates
The Area qualifying Rounds for the 2016 1/32nd Nationals have been agreed as follows:
10 Jan 16 – Blackpool
14 Feb 16 – Fylde
13 Mar 16 – North Wales
As usual the best 2 out of 3 rounds in each class will count.
Note we start the season on the great looking new 6 lane Blackpool track. Time permitting this will mean 6 x 3 min segments so please bear this in mind in preparing tyre sizes.
Race Format
There will be segmented racing in all classes.
There will be 1 minute qualifying for Saloon, F1 & Sports with best lap to count except in the event of there being a problem timing individual lap times when most laps total in a minute will count. There will not be separate individual warm up time immediately before racers qualify.
Qualifying will seed drivers into finals when you can win from any final. When entry is not an exact multiple of number of lanes in use on track ‘sit out’ finals are recommended to use least time & if not required for all finals, the highest finals will not have sit outs.
Although Clubman Production may not have a qualifying element now it is part of The Production Challenge weekend, Area Rounds are an important part of the learning curve for new racers so it it is important we continue to run Production especially to let racers get used to the new BSCRA chassis this coming season. To save a little time though 1 min qualifying will not be done for this class but all racers in it will race in one race with whatever number of sit outs are required to run Production.
Timetable
For all 3 meetings the following timetable will apply:-
8.00 – 9.30 Visitor Practice
9.30 – 9.45 Home Member Practice
Race Start no later than 10.00
Class order of Production, Saloon, F1 & Sports
Entry Fees
No change to these at £4/class & ½ price juniors. Production free with 3 other classes.
A levy of £25 will be charged at meetings to each host club to pay for trophies at the end of the season.
Enjoy your racing!
Best regards,
Steve Sargent
