Here is the same F1 car fitted with a later ESC. As you can see there this later
ESC doesn’t have the large capacitor seen in the earlier version.
This is the car Bob Budge used in the main grade Final at the 2021 Nationals
This is a F1 car as seen in early August 2021.
The early version of the ESC in this photo has a capacitor . Apparently this stores energy which is used to keep the electronics running when the track voltage is low.
