K Slotcar Pinewood Open Meeting
18/19 November
Lee Parsons wins all 3 classes
The final round of the 2023 Championship was held at Pinewood. Production Saloon
was held on the Saturday.
Ten drivers entered, Lee Parsons was the top qualifier with
a 4.816 second lap Martin Ellis second on 4.960. There were two 5 man segmented
finals. Simon Scott won the B with 257 laps ahead of Steve Sargent on 238. Lee and
Martin were quickest in the A, Lee winning with 287 laps from Martin on 268, Simon’s
B final run was good for 3rd overall.

The winning car used a JK Aeolos chassis, The motor had a Cahoza can with a Valiko 46° armature (Group 12 arms are required in this class). The gears are 72 pitch 7:44, the 16° angled gear had the tips ground off (That’s why the gear teeth have white tips, it’s not about to strip!)
It had Won O Won Klingon tyres and an Attan Mercedes body.

Lee Parsons was fasted of the Saturday OG12 qualifiers with 3.970 sec, Will Stemman
was the fastest of the Sunday arrivals on 4.197, second overall.
With Sunday arrivals
we had 15 runners, so the race was run as 3 sets of 5.
Steve Sargent won the C final.
David Sargent won the B. Lee Parsons again won the A final on 330 laps from Will
on 318. Martin Ellis took third place on 303, that result ensured he was series champion.
Steve Sweetman and Simon Scott both finished on 302. The A finalists took the top
5 places overall.
Lee’s winning car had a Horky chassis, The otor used a Cahoza UL can with Koford
Group 15 magnets and a Koford 48° armature
The gears are 80 pitch 7:44
It used JK tyres and a BPA Lola body.

Lee completed his clean sweep of top qualifying runs with a 3.495 sec lap. Will was again second, his brushless Europsport was not far behind on 3.569

Sandy Parker won the C final with 307 laps. Simon Scott won the B by a quarter of
a lap from Pat Skene, their 324 lap totals set the target for the A final.
Lee completed
his hat trick of wins with 362 laps, Will was second on 347 ahead of Steve Sweetman
(334) and Martin (331). Ron retired from the A final with a slipping motor shaft
leaving Simon and Pat 5th and 6th
Lee’s winning car had a GSR chassis, a 28 magnet motor with a Valiko 18 turns of 24½ gauge armature geared 5:39 72 pitch. It used Won O Won Klingon tyres and an BPA BMW body
