Marc Lyons is the 2020 Clubman Saloon Champion

Aston Offer was again top qualifier with a 6.779 second lap - a time that would have beaten 2/3 of the overall field at last years nationals.    David Austin was again fastest in the heats under half a lap ahead of Marc Lyons, while top qualifier Aston hit car trouble.    In the final Marc won over 4 laps from David with Bill Jenner third.  Marc’s winning score would have been good enough to make the main grade final at last year’s Nats.

The INTRO 32 Final

As well as the Clubman National Championships, there were support races which allowed main and premier grade drivers to have a run.

Team Race

The first support race was for teams of two, with at least one clubman driver in each team.    The winners were Aston Offer and James Cleave running as Luton SCC. Chris Stemman and Josh Bryant were second some 4 laps behind with Marc Lyons and Paul Harwood third.

There was an individual race for F2 cars.   James Cleave won by some 6 laps from Gavin Wills. Top clubman was Aston Offer in third overall.

Many thanks to James Cleave for organising the event, to David Sargent on race control and Paul Harwood for sponsoring the ‘Best Presented’ competitions. Also, everyone else who was there helping. Without support from guys like that we’d never able to run these events.
