Nationals 2025
The JK Products Brushed Nationals
The event was held on 12/13 July for brushed motor cars in the classes now dominated by brushless motors. A great chance to use for competitors to race their brushed cars. Thanks to our generous sponsor JK Products. It was a select crowd, we had some great racing with a good atmosphere.
1/32 F1
The racing started on Saturday with F1. Firstly the 1 minute qualifying
runs seeded the drivers into two 8 x 4 minute segmented finals. The low entry meant
there was a shortage of marshals, many thanks to Sandy Parker for marshalling the
Saturday events.
James Cleave top qualified somewhat slower than his brushless car at the Nats. Josh Bryant was second with a quicker time than he posted at the Nats.
Mark Witham won the B final having led for most of the race.
James Cleave led the way in the A final, closely challenged at first by Josh Bryant,
but Gavin Wills eventually came through to second. James won with 296 laps, some
15 laps slower than his winning time at the Nationals with a brushless car.

1/32 Sports/GT
Saturday’s second class was 1/32 sports/GT.
James Cleave top qualified over 4 tenths
of a second clear of Gavin Wills and Josh Bryant. The top time would only have taken
14th place against the brushless cars at the Nats, but who knows how much faster
James could have gone with his strap car had he needed to?
Mark Witham again won the
B final having led for most of the race, this time it was quick enough for 4th overall
and top Main Grade.
James Cleave again led the A final by a comfortable margin. This
Josh Bryant finished ahead of Gavin Wills. James won with 341 laps, some 30 laps
slower than Will’s winning time at the Nationals with a brushless car.
