1/24 BOC  2025   British Open Championship

ISRA Rules Meeting  2025

The event was for cars to ISRA rules, it was held on 23/24 August - the two 1/24 classes on Saturday and the two 1/32 classes on Sunday.

1/24 Production.

This was a race for teams of two drivers.  The rules required group 12 motors,  and 2 piece production chassis.   The tyres were hand outs, but unlike the world championships there were no other hand out parts.   All the cars used the JK Aeolos chassis.

The rules allowed a choice of bodyshells used in the last few year’s world championships.

Five of the 10 teams used 2025 Attan Tesla.

Josh Bryant took the top qualifying spot with a 4.414 sec lap just ahead Will Stemman’s 4.434.  Next up were Gavin Wills and James Cleave in the 4.6s.

Will took a 2 lap lead from James in the first segment. James closed the gap to less than a lap at quarter distance.  A pit stop delayed James in the third segment, leaving him some 14 laps behind Will but still just  ahead of Gavin and Josh.  Will then set a series of fastest segments to extend his winning margin to 26 laps.   James, Josh and Richard Mack finished 2-3-4 while Richard Beamish’s B final winning run was good for 5th overall.  Gavin was one of several retirements in an event with a great many track calls.

1/24  Eurosport

1/24 Eurosport was run on Saturday afternoon.

This is the fastest ISRA class.  The cars had the ISRA regulation Audi body which is less aerodyamic that the bodies used in BSCRA racing. The fastest times were a few tenths slower than set on this track at the BSCRA BOC meeting in February.

All but two of the cars used brushless motors.

The Stemman / Bryant winning car

The Stemman/Bryant team led throughout the race.  The Cleave/Wills team were close behind for the first quarter of the race, but a pit stop in segment 3 dropped them back.  The Woodward team who had been in 3rd in the early running moved up to 2nd which they held for the rest of the race.  The Harwood/ Beamish team the ran in third, and just held on ahead of  Cleave / Wills who were only half a lap behind at the end
