1/32 Nationals 2016
Formula 2
Formula 2 was the second event on Saturday 16th July. Thanks to the large entry, we had a lot of racing that day which inevitably led to a late finish. Well done Kev for controlling the 15 hour timetable to finish within about 10 minutes of the estimated finish time.
This is an event for F1 cars with standard low powered motors, this year many people chose the newly eligible Hawk 7 motor although there were still plenty of Falcon 7 runners.
Stan Alton won the E final with a time good enough to stay ahead of D final winner Richard Hills. Will Stemman set an impressive time in the C final ahead of Ant Hawkes. B final winner Steve Sargent took second so far 8 laps behind Will with Ant and Stan completing top top 4. Simon Francis was the fastest clubman with an impressive 12th overall. The A final was a reasonably close race between James Cleave, Paul Shepherd and Gavin Wills. James won, ahead of defending champion Shep while Gavin completed the top 3 followed by Will, A finalist Chris Thomas and Steve from the B.
