Team Race

The ten teams that contested the team even were comprised of mostly established pairs from earlier years together with some competing together for the first time.


10 minute segments were decided upon and the race got under way.

Team Shep got into an immediate lead by lust over a lap from CleaveTech with CMG Slots 2 laps further behind and Cunning Stunts one lap behind them. TallStar, SCD, Silverwood and CMG Pontywood had relatively trouble free runs with Fylde+ hitting problems and dropping about 30 laps on the leaders.

The second segments saw Cleave Tech get a lead they were never to relinquish with CMG Slots chasing hard 4 laps down, Cunning Stunts were 2 laps further down with TallStar 2 laps further back. Woteva were 5th 3 laps ahead of Team Shep with SCD, CMG Pontywood and Silverwood fighting it out for the lower places.

CleaveTech extended their lead in segment 3 with a 8 lap lead over CMG slots who had a brief stop to sort out their body shell. Woteva grabbed 3rd with Team Shep recovering to 4th. TallStarts were 5th with Cunning Stunts dropping to 6th. SCD were in 7th, Fylde+ 8th and CMG Pontywood having a better run to consolidate 9th from Silverwood in 10th.

In the final segment, CleaveTech and CMG Slots cruised to first and secons with Woteva maintaining 3rd. TallStar overhauled Team Shep for 4th with Cunning Stunts, SCD, Fylde+, CMG Pontywood and Silverwood all maintaining station to finish, 6th to 10th.



All in all in was a great day’s racing and everyone seemed to like the new facilities at Pontefract. As I said at the beginning – it’s good to be back!

Pontefract BSL – 15th August 2021


It’s been a long wait, but we managed to restart the 2020 BSL season following the easing of Covid-10 restrictions. There were 20 entries (10 teams) with many drivers keen to see the new club room.


1/32nd Production


Heat 1 was a Pontefract regulars affair with Charlie Gooding on 28.67 leading home Paul Bucknell (27.83), Colin Jackson (27.04) and Graham Burke (26.71). None of these times were challenged until heat 4 when Geoff Snaith, another Pontefract member posted 26.94 on blue. Heat 5 had 3 super production runners with James Cleave and Steve Sargent scored 31.03 and 28.35 respectively. The second round of heats saw Paul Shepherd (29.40) and George Kimber (27.83) join the leading pack with Charlie and James backing up their first round scores with slightly lower but nevertheless good scores of 27.82 and 30.02. Round 3 saw further good runs from Charlie, George, James and Paul Shepherd though only James improved over his earlier score with an incredible 32.04.



The E final was won by Harry Shepherd from Terry Forster, Mark Murfet and Graham Faulkner. The D final was a win for Glenn Atterton, with 2nd to 4th far more closely contested by Tony James, Alan Willmott and Peter Donely separated by just over a lap. The C final was won by Graham Burke with Dean Willmott 4 laps down and home members a lap down on Dean and separated by only 3 feet! The B final was a close contest between George Kimber,  Paul Bucknell,  Geoff Snaith and Colin Jackson – less than a lap from 1st to 4th, with George just taking it from Paul, Geoff and Colin. The A final was a clear win for James by 3 laps from from Shep, with Steve a further 4 laps don and Charlie having a troubled run to 4th. Charlie was the first Falcon runner in the field.
