1/32 Saloon

British 1/32 saloon racing allows a free choice of chassis, but requires a Group 12 motor. Here are some examples of what the cars we race.

Radkovic Saloon

This is Graham Woodward's car (with the Renault Laguna body removed) with which he took 4th place in the 2000 National Championships. It uses a Czech Radkovic chassis and a Pro Slot Group 12 motor. The gear ration is 8:47 and the rear tyres are BSP.  The car was full described in the September/ October 2000 edition of Slot Car Racing News.                                         (Photo by Nigel Barrow)

202 Saloon

One of the most popular saloon chassis at the moment is the 202 by Brian Saunders. At the 2000 National Championships they finished 1st. 2nd. 3rd. 5th. 6th. and 8th.

The chassis comes in kit form with the parts cut out of spring steel sheet by the edm process.  Above is the kit as it comes.

This photo shows the parts separated with a guide as to where they fit.

This photo shows a top view of a part finished chassis

This underside view of an almost completed 202c chassis - just add braids, fount wheels and a body and its ready to put on the track. This again uses a Pro Slot Group 12 motor. The body is mounted on the pans which are free to float fore and aft (left to right on the screen) - the clearance is visible.
