PRO AM 2016

Pro Am Cup 2016.

Established by Andy Brown Searle in 2008 the UK Falcon Pro Championship evolved into a competitive, low cost series producing what is now called “BSCRA Formula 2”. The series listened to competitors suggestions and largely evolved from their ideas and what they enjoyed racing most.

Due to major changes in lifestyle, occupation and circumstances Andy has taken a step back in 2016 and handed the responsibility to a new team.

Re-branded as “The PRO-AM CUP”, the new organising team consists of:

Paul Harwood (championship co-ordinator and series scrutineer)

Ant Hawkes (championship co-ordinator and series sponsor)

Ian Howard (Press, Promotion and Publicity).

After 7 successful years the new team felt that as well as rebranding to the PRO-AM Cup the 2016 series racing and regulations should also enjoy a refreshed and revised new format, whilst maintaining the ethics of “Low Cost Competitive Racing” with the addition of some simplified rules.

Open discussion between the organisers and prospective competitors on Facebook and Slotforum have proved invaluable in reviewing how things should change. As a consequence the UK now boasts a well-established and “feeder series” going forward which is not only guarantees low cost, fun and ultra-competitive racing but also a more accessible management structure.

The series will retain the 6 race structure without dominating the yearly race calendar. This schedule will ensure that racers have the opportunity to compete at club level on a regular basis and well as in other National Slot Racing Championships.

Venues have already been set for the 2016 series; however other clubs are invited to register their interest in running races in the 2017 series providing they can meet the BSCRA standard criteria.
