British ISRA Championship 2021

As you will probably be aware BSCRA is not running any BOC events until 2022 but earmarked the weekends of 23/24th Oct & 4/5th Dec 2021 to hold open meetings if the Covid situation allowed which appears to be likely at present.

This gives us the opportunity to run something a little different. Particularly as the Worlds has not gone ahead the intention  is to run races for the 2 x 1/32nd scale ISRA classes & format on the October weekend at the Fylde Club & on the December weekend  the 2 x 1/24th classes at The National Centre. At both events racing for both classes will be run on the Sunday with some practice available on the Saturday.

The 3 individual races will be 24 minutes duration at both events & the team race 1 hour (30 mins  / driver). Points will be awarded as ISRA ranking system for each class & the British ISRA Champion will be decided by who scores most points over the 2 weekends from the 4 classes.

For those less familiar with ISRA racing you can check out the full rules at isra-slot.com. If you have any queries please check with Graham Woodward. However the main technical difference is you must start a class with at least 0.8mm clearance at tech & specific bodies need to be used with F1 also scale painted. Many racers will already possess the 1/32nd bodies which are in common use in UK racing anyway. We will use the Red Fox Audi RS5 DTM 1/24th Saloon body which many will have & was the last body raced by ISRA for the Corby Worlds. One thing unlike the Worlds is we will not be providing handout saloon parts & accordingly you may run any BSCRA  legal 1/24th saloon motor.

We hope as well as the Worlds regular racers a number of other racers will take part to get some feel for an ISRA event. As more than anything else we want to encourage people to race again, those that do not wish to alter their car bodies from BSCRA rules will be allowed to compete but will just not be eligible to score points. However as cutting less sponge away is no inconvenience everyone is expected to enter cars with at least 0.8mm clearance.

Please note it will be a requirement as applied at the National Team Race that you may only attend if double vaccinated for Covid-19 unless exempted from vaccination or too young to have been given the chance.  Evidence needs to be provided in advance of your status however those that provided this for the Clubman Nats / Team Race weekend do not need to do so again. In any event can you please register with Steve Sargent in advance of the Fylde meeting if you intend to race at it & send a copy of proof of vaccination status if not already supplied.
