Previous Announcement  - BSCRA Chairman, News Editor and Development Officer

Keith Gibson is standing down as BSCRA Chairman and News Magazine Editor.   As you will have read elsewhere, Keith is now in business selling slot car parts, having taken over a large part of the BSP business from Brian Saunders.  This is the reason Keith is standing down as a BSCRA official.  Keith will continue in both posts until successors are appointed, and is very happy to help his successors during the change over period.  I'm sure you will want to join me in thanking Keith for his work as a BSCRA official and wishing him every success in his new business.

Lee Parsons is standing down as BSCRA Development Officer.    Lee says “I am afraid I must also step down from my duties on the council as my career is taking a turn of direction where I will have little time for racing in the foreseeable future.”   Lee has just completed work on the track in Edinburgh, putting it in great condition for the Nats.  I'm sure you will want to join me in thanking Lee for his work as a BSCRA official and wishing him every success in his career.

James Cleave’s letter

Dear BSCRA Council,

Please accept my resignation as chairman of the BSCRA.

I have given this decision much thought over the past few months and feel that I cannot currently dedicate enough time to fulfil the expectations of the role. When I took over the role of chairman, I stepped into the post to help the BSCRA in a difficult time, knowing that my existing commitments would interfere with the dedication needed for such a role. The critical times for the BSCRA are in May and September, which are also the critical times in secondary education. With the creation of a new STEM College, as part of my employer’s academy trust, I have become busier than ever over the past few months. It is also great to now have keen members wanting to take on leading roles within the association and I therefore feel that it is time to step down.

I am not initially interested in taking on another council position at the current time. The PRO position may become vacant, but I do not wish to stand for this role for the same reasons as outlined above.

I would however, wish to offer my continued service to work with the BSCRA to develop the following areas which are fundamental to the future of the BSCRA:

Development and Introduction of the new Production Chassis

Total revision of the rule book

Development of the BSCRA ranking list

Development of Slot Stox as a BSCRA class

I would like to thank the people I have worked with in my time on the BSCRA council and wish the next chairman all the best.

Yours faithfully,

James Cleave
