Falcon F1
The second class on Saturday was for Falcon powered F1s. Due to the later than expected start time a few of the entries withdrew leaving us a field of 30 . There was no separate qualifying for this class, the seeding for the racing was based on Super Production / Production qualifying. Again the racing was 8x3minutes segmented this time two 8 man races and two races of 7. The win from any final format meant the seeding wasn't that important, although there may have been a slight advantage from being in a 7 man heat.

Ian Fisher's best presented body winner.
Franz won the D final, perhaps one should mention he was only in this final because he asked to run early as he had a 2 hour drive home that evening. Perhaps a more representative D final time was Gavin Wills, just a lap down on Franz. Murray Tucker won the C final from Bob Budge, these being the only two C finalists to beat Franz and Gavin's times. Ian Fisher was the only B finalist to beat Murray's time, although Nick Thrower edged ahead of Bob's time. The A finalists were indeed quick, and this turned into a very close race, with James Cleave winning by less than a lap from Graeme Stephenson with Mark Harwood less than half a lap behind Graeme in third. Brian Saunders was 4th ahead of top main grade driver Martin Ellis which left Ian Fisher 6th.

Above James Cleave's winning chassis. Below 1 double winner James Cleave is presented his trophy by Matt of Haynes Motor Museum, 2 Mark Harwood took a second and a third place, 3 Murray Tucker won Falcon Production and was the top Clubman grade driver in F1, 4 Martin Ellis top main grade driver in F1, 5 Bob Hallums top main grade driver in super production. In the backgroud can be seen Tony Condon who's hard work did so much to make the event such a success.
