After many years absence from the BSL it was great to return to one of the series originals, Bolton, for this season’s 4th round. Their current traditional tight British circuit offered an interesting challenge to the healthy turnout of 19 racers.
Martin Ellis took top honours in the individual class and put himself in a strong position to take Shep’s very long standing championship crown. It was very good to see Graham Walker in action again & taking top clubman just ahead of top newcomer Steven Pearce. It was also good to see Andrew Jones from Carlisle racing for the 1st time (apart from Norman’s 2 lane circuit!) in around 20 years.
Graham showed just how good a driver he can still be to take team honours with Gordon Dickson as ‘Borrowed’ while Norman Fawcett & Pete Clarkson put in a strong performance as Team 131 to finish 2nd.
All in all a very good day’s racing which hopefully everyone enjoyed. Finally, thanks to Bolton for a very friendly welcome back to the series.
Reminder: For all those planning to go to the double header at Highland, Saturday practice on the 4 lane circuit does not start until 12.30 to allow more travelling time.
