StevFylde BSL – 17th Sep 17
A very good field of 20 racers turned out for the last club round of this year’s BSL at Fylde.
There was some great racing as ever. Noteable races included Norman Fawcett pipping Ian Fitzpatrick by 1ft in the C Final because he was running a falcon which rolled past Ian when the power went off. It was particularly good to see both teenager drivers Callum Wood & Steven Pearce (top newcomer) both going well in the B final & both driving superbly for their teams.
Going into the day Richy Kettleson led the individual championship but his non attendance allowed Shep to take full advantage with a win while Pete Clarkson’s 2nd place in the A Final gave him a very strong lead for the Falcon title.
Dramas for 2 of the championship team contenders, Team 131 & Nae Pals meant quite a change in positions & leaves the title wide open between the top 4 with the usual double points at stake for the Finals.
Hopefully a good day’s racing was had by all.
As I am sure everyone will now know it was announced that the Finals will be held at the excellent new British Slot Car Racing Centre in Corby on the BSCRA Nationals track on 3rd Dec as a one day event. See you all there!
