SLOT IN TWO

The BSCRA  Area 2 Newsletter

Hi All,

This year’s area rounds are over already but what a good season! Many thanks to you all for making this season the best supported for many years & easily the best area round attendances in the country. There has been some great racing at all levels & a very friendly spirit which I hope you have all enjoyed. Especially satisfying is the number of racers contesting the Novice class. The only down side has been fairly long days to accommodate the numbers but even this is a pleasant dilemma to have.

SLOT IN TWO

The BSCRA  Area 2 Newsletter

Hi All,

Following the Area discussion held at the end of the Fylde BSL I am writing to confirm arrangements for our qualifying series for the 1/32nd Nationals next year.

Area Round Dates

The Area qualifying Rounds for the 2015 1/32nd Nationals were agreed as follows:

11 Jan 15 – Blackpool      BLACKPOOL RACE REPORT

8 Feb 15 – Castle Raceway         CASTLE RACEWAY RACE REPORT

8 Mar 15 – Fylde

As usual the best 2 out of 3 rounds in each class will count.

Race Format

Following the change in the Nationals Race format it was agreed we should run segmented racing for all classes.

There will be 1 minute qualifying for Saloon, F1 & Sports with best lap to count except in the event of there being a problem timing individual lap times when most laps total in a minute will count. Due to the extra time demands this entails there will not be separate individual warm up time immediately before racers qualify.

This will seed drivers into finals as we have done in Sports & Production in recent years when you can win from any final. When entry is not an exact multiple of number of lanes in use on track ‘sit out’ finals  are recommended to use least time & if not required for all finals, the highest finals will not have sit outs.

Although Clubman Production may not have a qualifying element now it is part of The Production Challenge weekend,  Area Rounds are an important part of the learning curve for new racers so it was agreed it is important we continue to run these. To save a little time though 1 min qualifying will not be done for this class but all racers in it will race in one race with whatever number of sit outs are required to run Production.

Note: It is expected the new BSCRA Production chassis will be launched next year for racing in the 2016 season so no change for this coming season.

TIMETABLE

The above format is likely to take more time than we have needed in recent years so it was agreed an earlier start time was needed. This will be:

8.00 – 9.30 Visitor Practice

9.30 – 9.45 Home Member Practice

Race Start no later than 10.00

Class order of Production, Saloon, F1 & Sports

ENTRY FEES

No change to these at £4/class & ½ price juniors. Production free with 3 other classes.

A levy of £25 will be charged at meetings to each host club to pay for trophies at the end of the season.

Enjoy your racing!

Best regards,

Steve Sargent

New Area Co-ordinator

Just a quick message for the moment to say that in the absence of anybody volunteering to take on the Area Co-ordinator position since Steve Siddall stated he wished to step down last year, I have now decided to take on the role again to resolve the position. Steve is aware of this & is happy somebody else is taking over.

I will be in touch again in the near future but for now would just like to thank Steve for the time he has put in over the last 3 years for the Area.

Best regards,
Steve Sargent
