Monday’s racing was for the fastest class, Eurosport.

Ross Grogan top qualified with a 3.908 second lap.  He was followed by Gavin Wills on 3.915, Pavel Flaisig on 4.038 and Bob Budge on 4.044    During practice we saw some laps close to Antonin Vojtik’s 3.705 second qualifying record set in 2015, but for whatever reason those speeds weren’t achieved in qualifying.

Simon Francis won the D final from Mark Witham, both on 284 laps. The C final may well be a record for the number of track calls!   Lee Parsons’ 292 was the only C final score to top Simon and Mark’s times.  Zuzana Hojerova won the B final, her 298 along with Pat Skene’s 296 and Chris Aldridge’s 294 left Lee 4th so far.  The A final proved highly competitive, at 3/4 distance James Cleave was leading with two slow lanes to come.  Ross Grogan was closing fast in the 7th segment with Gavin Wills not far behind. Just when it looked as if Ross would comfortably take the lead his car launched on the main straight and landed somewhere behind Kev’s race control desk. That only needed a few second’s worth of repairs, but it was enough to relegate him to third while Gavin came through to lead.  In the final segment Gavin extended his lead to win with 330 laps two laps ahead of James who was 8 ahead of Ross. Jan Zemlicka, Pavel Flaisig and Martin Hojer were covered by 4 laps, they completed the top 6
