Rockingham slot car club welcomed the southern 32 series to its Corby club room on Sunday, sixteen racers took part in the production race with James Cleave winning the overall race, a notable performance from Mick Kerr saw him qualify a creditable 4th for the A final with his Falcon powered car as well as taking the victory in the Clubman final. Gavin Wills and Mike Thomson were comfortable winners in the team race, but a very close finish for second was only decided in the dying seconds of the hour long race when Chris’ team beat Rockingham 2 by a mere 8 parts. The odd number of racers gave John Ovens plenty of track time as he did double duty for ECES and Harwood racing and the LSCC team of Nick Thrower and Cliff Bicknell were victorious in the Falcon powered class.

The event saw seven new track records with James Cleave setting five new benchmarks, with Mick Kerr and Chris Aldridge also adding their names to the record books.
